President's Comments:

Joining Bathgate Concert Orchestra is a great way of playing music, improving your musical skills and meeting new people. The orchestra meets on Friday evenings at 7.30 - 9.30pm from September to May in St. John's Church Hall in Bathgate with open rehearsals, i.e. there is no audition. The orchestra has players ranging from beginners to very accomplished musicians with most age groups represented, the common link being an interest in playing and making music in a cohesive group. The conductor, Marco Marzella, selects a programme of music that is always interesting and appropriately demanding. The orchestra is keen to increase its numbers and to this end is holding an open day in St John's Church on Friday 6th October 2006, musicians of all standards are welcome. The orchestra is currently in need of more brass and string, especially double bass players.

Birthday Celebrations for Joan and Morag were a good excuse for a beginning of term drink at the local.

Archie entertained with some amazing magic. The camera was unable to capture his slight of hand but caught the rest of us in stitches at his routine.
