Bathgate Concert Orchestra is an amateur orchestra based in Bathgate, West Lothian, Scotland. It was founded in 1952. Today we have around 25 member, a happy mix of amateur and professional musicians. We play a wide variety of orchestral music to suit all tastes. We enjoy making music. The president of the orchestra is Councillor John McGinty and the leader of the orchestra is Alistair Watson.
We are always happy to welcome new members. No audition is necessary but we do ask for commitment to regularly attend the rehearsals and concerts. We rehearse on Friday evenings from 7:30pm - 9:30pm.

About our Conductor:
Razvan Luculescu graduated Orchestral Conducting at National Music University in Bucharest, in 2001, when he became Chorus Director Assistant with National Operetta Theatre in Bucharest. He conducted some of the theatre productions, such as: Die Fledermaus by J. Strauss –son, Countess Mariza by E. Kalmann or Kunneke’s The Cousin from Nowhere. He also collaborated with National Theatre in Bucharest, where he conducted The Burgeois Gentleman after Moliere. He also freelanced as conductor with Oleg Danovski National Theatre in Constanta and Pitesti Philharmonic Orchestra, and Baden Sinfonieta from Austria.
In 2010, he moved to Scotland where he became Musical Director of Milngavie Choir, and also conducted Monklands Light Opera and Callander Amateur Operatic Society. He is Organist and Choir Director at Portland Parish Church in Troon, Music Director of Bathgate Concert Orchestra, Milnavie Choir and Accompanist for Glasgow Ballet Studio and Strathaven Choral Society. His collaborations as conductor also include CoOperative Scotland and Clyde Opera Group, being a founding member of the last one.
